You might've missed the video that went viral a few days ago wherein a teacher in North Carolina berates one of her students for criticizing the President, so if you're not up for watching the full 9 minute video, I'll cut straight to the meat: She told him he could get arrested for "speaking ill of the President."
"Let me tell you something about me. As a teacher, I'm not supposed to allow you to disrespect the President of the United States."
The student responded, "Whenever Bush was in, everybody talked shit about Bush. Everybody did."
"Do you realize that people were arrested for saying things bad about Bush?"
Good to know our public school teachers aren't overly burdened with an understanding of the Bill of Rights.
Commented the student, Hunter Rogers, in the local Salisbury Post, "She always wants to start these discussions where she wants to hear only what she believes, and if anybody else in the class has different beliefs we get berated and yelled at and attacked."
Can't wait to see the teacher's union solve this problem by pressuring the school system to ban recording devices in the classroom.
